Coach: Chris House

In 2020/21, we had a purpose after looking like favourites during 2019/20 only for COVID to end the season, also this was the last year for 2-time premiership coach Chris House. What a way to finish it off.

Coming into the finals in some form, we had to face the Braves juggernaut in the semis, and so the drama begins:

Game 1 - 7-12 loss

Our gun Lachie Southee doesn't make it out of the first innings, things are looking bleak and we are saved by some vital innings by non-core pitchers, Lachie Dale, Josh Lynch and Travis Murphey.

Game 2 - 6-5 win

Cometh the hour, cometh the man.......Brendan Sing: complete game, 9 innings, 150 pitches, 5 earned runs, and one massive win. But don't forget the drama, 6-3 up in the bottom of the 9th, Braves score two on a Kevin Clarke double to get within one, S. Garret gets a hit up the middle only to see Adrian Blount throw the runner out at home, pinch run for the catcher maybe!! GAME OVER.

Game 3 - 5-3 win in 10 innings

After registering only 2 outs in less than an inning, Lachie Southee turned superman throwing 140 pitches in 7 innings for three earned runs. Clearly feeling fresh off 150 pitches two night before, the iron man Brendon Sing came out to deliver 3 innings of shutout relief. To get us to extra innings, a 9th inning hit from Kieran Chapman tied it up after Ulrich Bojarski, down to his last strike with 2 put, got plunked Then in the 10th a hit for Aaron Bonomi and a sac from Bojo had us up by 2, for Singy to close the door and book a spot in the GF.

On to Wanneroo in the GF, not the same drama this time:

Game 1 - 10-6 win

Singy, clearly still fresh, went out and threw another 158 pitches for the win. Team effort with 11 hits, helped by 8 errors from Wanneroo.

Game 2 - 5-1 win

Southee, also still fresh as a daisy, threw 149 pitches in 9 innings in what was a cliff hanger until the 6th. Enter Alex Hall......Jay Bullingham was cruising and then an error by Wanneroo set the scene for Hally to launch a ball deep into the night, clearing the shed in center field for one of the longest home runs you will see, from there it was all downhill with Morley claiming the second premiership for Coach Chris House.
